But then there were moments that really showed how much he acts his cavalier whorish personality is just the surface of hiding who he really is. However there were moments in this book I didn’t like how Frost portrayed him.

Now there were some things I loved and hated about Ian in this book. Of course we get some fun characters added in the story including our favorite Ian. To say that Jeaniene Frost has really stepped up the emotion of the story is putting it mildly. But the stakes are highly raised with Mircea is taken by other Necromancers and is using her to get Vlad to commit terrible acts against his closest friends. Mircea still has a strong physical connection to Leila and is using it against her. The story sets off pretty quickly after the previous book. I won’t reveal what happens but seriously I think I just broke down in tears because I adored this character. However I freaking loved this book probably just as much as the other although there is a bit of a downside of what happens to one of our side characters. I do know that there are quite a few mixed reviews on this book. I just have connected with this couple way more. The first time I have listened to this narrator, and part of me wishes that I had all this series in audio because she showed Vlad and Leila so perfectly…I don’t think there is a narrator that could have done them justice like this gal did…so cheers Tavia Gilbert!!
